In oder for the anime not to catch up with the manga, Bleach recently put on a new filler arc. And what I can say is that this filler arc is not boring and will keep you wondering what would happen next.

As you can see this filler arc is about the materialization of the zanpakutous. The awakening of the zanpakutou's instinct. The cause was because of Muramasa, a zanpakutou who wasn't recognized by his master. As the story goes, it is still unknown why Muramasa would attack soul society. And in order for him to take over he awakened the instincts of the zanpakutous in soul society and hypnotizing them to join him. because of this the captains and vice captains can't use their zanpakutuos in shikai or bankai form. But it was later shown that only determination could help them release their zanpakutou's shikai form, just like what happened to abarai renji and captain toshirou hitsugaya.




As of the moment, Bleach episode 239 features rangiku matsumoto, hinamori momo and toshirou hitsugaya defeating their zanpakutous. Vice captain abarai renji also defeated his zanpakutou in the previous episodes and was able to break the hypnotism bound to his zanpakutou.

The story becomes exciting because we got to see them fight one on one with their zanpakutous in human form. and It really keeps you wondering on what will happen next and who is the master of Muramasa.
